About Us
The Baltic Sea Secretariat for Youth Affairs (BSSYA) was established in March 1999 following the Visby Youth Ministers Conference in Sweden in June 1998 and was reconfirmed in its function by the Vilnius Youth Minister Conference in Lithuania in June 2002. The Secretariat is located in Kiel and is associated with the Regional Youth Council of Schleswig-Holstein, which is its administrative body. All Baltic Sea countries, represented by their ministries responsible for youth affairs, contribute to the budget and work of the secretariat. The overall goal is to serve as an information and co-ordination platform for governmental and non-governmental youth policy actors in the Baltic Sea Region.
