Get Involved!: Coffee with a politican

"Coffee with a politician" from the City of Västervik, Sweden: "Coffe with a politician" is a simple method to create meetings between youth and politicians in a municipality. To create a natural meeting between generations or between youngsters and politicians can sometimes be complicated. It’s not a matter of will, it’s a matter of time. This is why the Swedish organisation “Nätverket SIP” created a simple concept to allow this kind of meetings to take place without the difficult part, finding a time that suits all the members in a certain committee. The method has for example been used in the City of Växjö and other places. Download the guidelines:

Children's panel - the meeting of children and decision makers

Children's panel - the meeting of children and decision makers from the City of Kalmar, Sweden: Children’s panels have been organized on a yearly basis in the City of Kalmar since 2004. Those of us with experience in working with youth influence find that the panel form functions well, better in fact than many other forms. We have therefore produced a handbook in order to facilitate the implementation of children’s panels so that more children can take part in panels and so that children and decision makers may participate on equal terms. The panel can also be seen as an expression of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the portal paragraph states that children must be given the right to express their views. Download:
